Chano Dom\u00ednguez is one of the most celebrated of jazz pianists and composers. His singular work is defined by his flamenco origins.<\/span><\/p>\n

In more than 40 years of his career, he has dazzled all kinds of audiences, including other musicians spanning both worlds of jazz and flamenco.<\/span><\/div>\n

His interpretive talents are highly sought after for his authentic integration of both jazz and flamenco traditions, working with an extensive range of colleagues such as Paco de Luc\u00eda, Enrique Morente, Jorge Pardo, Carles Benavent, Martirio, Wynton Marsalis, Paquito d\u2019Rivera, Jack DeJohnette, Herbie Hancock, Jerry Gonzalez, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Michel Camilo, Chucho Vald\u00e9s, Joe Lovano, and George Mraz, among others.<\/span><\/div>\n

Chano has achieved an unusual integration between the rhythms and languages of jazz and flamenco, creating a unique style that places him among the top musicians practicing this artform. Internationally acclaimed, he has influenced and changed the history of flamenco-jazz.<\/span><\/div>\n

\u00a0<\/div>\n
His music has been played by many different ensembles and orchestras such as the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, WDR Cologne Big Band, Orquesta Nacional de Espa\u00f1a, Orquesta Nacional de Latvia, Orquesta de C\u00e1mara del Vall\u00e9s, and the Orquesta Nacional de Costa Rica.<\/span><\/div>\n

In 2016 he\u2019s been nominated for his fourth Grammy, this one a Latin Grammy for his latest release \u201cBendito\u201d. This recording features Chano as producer, composer and pianist with his preferred \u2018cantaor\u2019 (flamenco singer) Blas Cordoba aka \u201cEl Kejio\u201d.<\/span><\/div>\n

Chano is also a seasoned educator, available for master classes, workshops and residencies. He has previously taught at Taller de M\u00fasics in Barcelona, The Music Conservatory of Bogot\u00e1, the Julliard School in New York and at the School of Music at the University of Washington, among others.\u00a0<\/span>Chano has lived in New York, where Sunnyside Records has released his newest piano solo album Over the Rainbow.<\/div>\n

His most recent works include a CD recorded with the legendary singer Martirio from Spain, A Bola de Nieve (Universal Music Spain 2019). A duet between Martirio and Chano Dom\u00ednguez on piano, based on the repertoire of the great Cuban singer, pianist and composer Bola de Nieve, one of the most brilliant musicians on the island of Cuba. Chano Dom\u00ednguez has also recently released a Live Piano Solo album (Lo Otro, 2020), recorded from two live sessions in 2015 in Madrid.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n

This 2020 he has prepared a series of collaborations with great world and jazz artists. One of these collaborations features Hamilton de Holanda, Brazilian virtuoso and mandolin player, who will be playing in autumn. The duo will also tour in 2021 in the summer. Furthermore he will be joined by another pianist and Cuban musician, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, who has also paved his own musical journey blending cuban roots and American Jazz.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
